Well now i am fedd up so i am writing it here!! :

Aalxim

The dragons in the land of Ashun live in colonies and this particular one lives at the edge of the sea. They do not have many cattle because the sea has made the ground unfertile so crops and grass can not be grown. So,naturaly, they live off of fish.
But after many centuries of fishfarming ,the Maltasuaxu (say Maltesuacha) -the fish- were decreasing and the sea was becoming more salty ,making it eaven harder for the dragons to grow crops.Usually ,the Maltasuaxu fed off of the salt and tiny snails as they did not need as much water as the dragons, and the salt was what made the sea "angry",as the dragons would call it, and crash onto their land. So ,because the Maltasuaxu ate the salt , the sea was mostly "quiet" and " calm". Their world was perfectly balanced.
Now that the Maltasuaxu were decreasing by hundreds every day, the sea was always angry and increasingly destroying the dragons caves, belongings and families.
One would think that they could just migrate to another part of Ashun, but the dragons knew that the sea did not only exist in front of their houses. It extended under the earth as well as over it. So it destroyd the soil around the village and beyond aswell. If the dragons were to migrate , they would starve before they got anywhere near proper soil.
So the dragons were hopeless and hungry. Many little dragons were dying before reaching the age of two because they could not be fed properly and old ones were getting ill and catching deseases more rapidly than in the past.It was up to the healthy dragons to care for the sick and the weak.
Untill one day ,Aalxim (say Alchim) was born.
He grew up and learned the dragon ways of fishfarming and turned out to be a very cunning, strong and fearless dragon boy. Also , he learned how to swim, which was very unusual for a dragon because their wings and scales were too heavy to float on water and difficult to drag through the sea.
Aalxim enjoyed swimming and so the king of the dragons tribe called him to his castle, that infact looked more like a great big sqare box set uppon a flat stone.
The king told Aalxim that if the mystery of the decrease of the Maltasuaxu was not unraveld, they would be sure to die by the end of the century.
This made Aalxim very uneasy and so he agreed to dive down deep into the sea and find out what he could about the Maltasuaxu.
Aalxim found out that the Maltasuaxu were not decreasing at all. If anything , they were regrouping rapidly!!
They were hiding deep down, almost too deep for even Aalxim to see.But never the less, see it did he.
The Maltasuaxu had been regrouping to join their forces and wipe out their dragon neighbours once and for all.But this is what Aalchim and the rest of the dragons did not know, for they spoke only their languige, and theirs alone was important to them. Or it had been until now.
They asumed what the Maltasuaxu were about to do ,and they did get it right. But they did not know when and how they would attack so they could not perepare for anything and were as vulnrable as a baby.
One night there came a great big energy light blast from the sea and it gradualy leaned closer to the dragons setlement!
The beam had been congoured by the Maltasuaxu's horns on their stomachs! The dragons had always avoided touching it ,because even through the their scaley coat it stung terribly once touched. So the dragons had never found out what else the Maltasuaxu could do!The Maltasuaxu could send a tiny beam of hot energy throught the horn and so split open a snail shell and then eat the snail without hurting their organs with the shells. It was their weapon and they had bound all of their energy beams together and made one gigantic bolt of hot energy!
The dragons ,of course, were not sure what it was or if it would be a danger to them.So they catapulted a dragon scale ( which is as hard and strong as five metre thick titanium) into the beam and were astounded as they saw the result:the beam broke the scale clean in half!
But Aalxim had seen more than the others had : when the scale was split , the beam had falterd for a fraction of a second! He told the king and explained that if a dragon was to fly into the beam,it would destroy it and so subside the danger. But also kill him- or herselfe at the same time.
The king was overjoyed and troubled at the same time, for which dragon would sacrifice him- or herselfe?
Aalxim had known the second he had seen the beam falter, that he would have to be the one to destroy it.For it had been his scale they had catapulted into the air,and he knew that only he could destroy it for good.
So there he had sat , alone on the cliff ,waiting for the right moment to blast into the light.
Minute after minute went by until Aalxim plunged into the air and shot streight into the great bolt of light. As he hit the eye of the beam, he felt and saw all of the memories of his past flicker in and out of his mind : the time he had learnt to swim ; learning how to fight ; receving a hard blow on his shin in fighting class, by his oponent Gregam ; seeing his mother smile when she watched him play with his neighbours; and the taste of grilled Maltasuaxu on a summers night.
Then it was all gone and he plunged into the deepness of the icy cold sea takeing the beam with him, forever.
From that day on the dragons lived in happieness and the Maltasuaxu never tried to harm them again.
Aalxim's name was cherished among the dragons and sometimes mothers would name their children after their great hero.Even after many centuries,he and his name his name were never forgotton:
Aalxim. THE END

Good solution, Jessica! In Dutch we would say: "those who are not strong, must be clever." (maybe a similar saying exists in English too, I am not sure... :) ) You were clever ;)

I loved to read your story. What a courageous and exceptional dragon that Aalxim was. He really sacrificed himself for his fellow-dragons-tribe...
Nicely written, and it really fits well with that pic! Well done!
